LUDHIANA: With tears rolling down their cheeks, toddlers are trying their best to not let go their mothers' hands. This is a common dream which parents are having these days as they prepare to send their kids to play way schools for the first time.
Schools will start their new sessions in the first week of April. With just a few days remaining, parents are in the grip of the first-day syndrome.

They fear that their kids would not leave them to go to schools. They are also anxious about other playmates in the schools. 'Will they be able to adjust?' is another question that is haunting the parents.
Though schools are advising parents to stay calm, child specialists want the parents to let the child take the first step of freedom.
Ravjot Kaur, a resident of Dugri, says, "My child is just 2 years and eight months old. I am happy and a bit nervous while sending him to school for the first time."
